On My Kitchen Counter 4

Cold and snowy winter days are hopefully over.
They kept me indoors setting up
fruit and veg still life possibilities for future paintings.

Long winter days can drive one
bonkers and I sometimes resorted to playing with my food before preparing it.

With such colors,,, who could resist painting such beauties.
Too pretty to eat you say.
That is the best part,,,eating the props.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful start to springtime.

Back to the drawing board.....

Out My Patio Door 10

Happy last day of February to you!

Winter is still hanging on here.
Somedays the fog is so thick you cannot see beyond the trees.
No butterflies on this butterfly bush,,,,that is for sure but then
somedays are beautifully sunny.

Winter always lets me know who was prowling around in my garden.
Somedays I even get lucky and see one of them off in the distance.

Hope February was good to you...let's see how March begins.  What do you
think ,,,,a lion or a lamb?

Pantone Color of the Year for 2015

MARSALA is the color of the year ...a naturally robust and earthy wine red or burgundy.

Hearty, yet a stylish tone which is universally appealing and translates easily to
fashion, beauty, industrial design, furnishings and interiors....according to Pantone.

 A beautiful color for fashion.

A lovely color found in Mother Nature.

An appealing color for interior as well as exterior.

A beautiful way to start off 2015... with such a beautiful color!

What do you think of Marsala?
Read more about it and past colors of the year at Pantone.
You can also see past colors of the year here on my blog too.

Ring in the New 2015

Here we are again,,,ringing in another New Year...2015!!
Some of the best days are yet to come!

Since many people look to make changes or seek
suggestions at this time ......let me help with a few resolutions.

How does shopping a lot less in 2015 sound to you.....

Maybe eat a lot less ice cream in 2015....

Vow to get together with dear friends a lot more often in 2015.....

Or maybe a new hair style is what will help you be a better you in 2015.....

Of course you could finally enter the Miss Donut Queen Contest and win
a full year of all the donuts you can eat in 2015.....

Or maybe something diving lessons at the local pool
in 2015......

Perhaps be more trendy in 2015 and wear more bangles......

Or stop smoking in 2015....I mean look what it has done to Barbie!!!
I heard she has since stopped....good on her...

Take up Street Art.....let your artistic talents shine in 2015...

I personally think we should all live like this happy dog below......don't you?

live this year like the gate has been left open !!!

Start today.....try something new.......surprise yourself......
let yourself your life....

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!!!

Out My Patio Door 9

As I sit here and work on my projects I get a wonderful show from nature.
What a nice view out my patio door....

 compared to this....

What a messy time of  year around here.
It does me good to look up and see the beauty of an amazing sunset.

We have not had any snow yet.  It has been so mild and I know when the snow
starts falling it will probably be a lot deeper than on this watercolor of mine.

I hope you are all enjoying your early November weather.

Watercolor Fun

Long time no see.
I have been having lots of fun painting lots of watercolors since last checking in here.
I thought it about time I do a post considering I forgot my password and had to
look it up.

This piece was inspired by a foto from a very talented watercolorist, Anita Ulrich.
Considering the fact that a Eucalyptus tree has hundreds of leaves... I used that
as my inspiration to paint negative leaves a layer at a time...
randomly... without using any masking fluid.

All I need to do is take the tape off, sign it and get it in a frame.

What have you been up to lately?  Hope all is well.

Calla Lilies

 I love Calla Lilies.
They are one of my favorite flowers.

 A quick gift.
I printed out copies of one of my watercolors that I did sometime ago.
I mounted them on cardstock and added assorted lace, ribbons and paper.  Presto, a little gift.
